The Institute of Logistics, Transportation and Tourism of Jiangsu Vocational College of Finance and Economics was formerly the Financial Management Teaching and Research Section of Jiangsu Huaiyin College of Finance and Economics established in 1999. After the establishment of Jiangsu Vocational College of Finance and Economics in 2004, the Institue of Economic Management was established. In 2015, the Institue of Business Administration was established. In 2020, the Institute of Logistics, Transportation and Tourism was established on the basis of logistics Management, Aviation Logistics and Tourism Management and High-speed Railway Passenger Transport major of the former School of Business Administration, which will be transferred to Flight Attendant major and Urban Rail Transit Operation Management major. The Institute of Logistics, Transportation and Tourism serves the major strategic deployment of Jiangsu Provincial Government and the college, and serves the latest demand of regional economic development for personnel training in logistics, transportation and tourism industry, with distinctive characteristics and fruitful results.
The Institue of Logistics and Transportation Tourism now offers six majors, namely Logistics Management, Aviation Logistics, Urban Rail Transit Operation Management, High-speed Railway Passenger Transport, Flight Attendant, and Tourism Management, which are among the key construction majors of colleges and universities in Jiangsu Province during the 12th Five-Year Plan period. Among them, Logistics Management and Tourism Management are the key majors of the college. Aviation logistics, Urban Rail Transit Operation Management, High-speed Railway Passenger Transport, and Flight Attendant are the new majors to meet the new needs of regional economic development. School of Logistics, Transportation and Tourism and Nanjing Normal University jointly set up a major of Tourism Management. Students can enter this major in their sophomore year and obtain certificate of graduation for undergraduate and certificate of bachelor’s degree in their senior year.
The Institute of Logistics, Transportation and Tourism has 39 teachers, including 15 full-time teachers and 24 part-time teachers. Among the full-time teachers, there are 5 professors and associate professors, 4 doctors and doctoral candidates, and 6 masters. All of the teachers have qualifications of dual professional degrees, including certified public accountants, lawyers, financial planners, human resource managers, senior logistics, tea masters, foreign tour guides and so on. They adhere to rigorous scholarship and care for students.
The Institute of Logistics, Transportation and Tourism attaches great importance to the combination of theory and practice teaching. It has established training rooms with advanced concepts and modern equipment, such as enterprise operation and management sand table, modern logistics training center, enterprise digital training center and tourism management training center. It has established school-enterprise cooperative relations with more than 30 large and medium-sized enterprises. Wanda Hotel Management Academy and Shangkun Commercial Aviation Academy have been established to cooperate with a number of enterprises to set up order classes and cultivate grassroots management talents such as team leaders, operation supervisors and department managers for enterprises. The employment rate of students is 100%, and they are well received by employers. With great development potential, they can become senior management talents in enterprises through hard work and training.
The students of the Institute of Logistics, Transportation and Tourism are positive, united and enterprising, and have won many awards in the National College Students' Enterprise Operation and Management Sandbox Competition, Enterprise Operation Analysis and Decision Competition, Enterprise Informatization Application Competition, Business Elite Challenge Competition, Logistics Management sandbox Competition, provincial Tour Guide Service Competition and Intelligent Logistics competition. The League committee of the school carries out a variety of cultural and sports activities to cultivate students' humanistic qualities. Nearly 30 students are awarded national scholarship, national Encouragement Scholarship and provincial merit student every year.
